What it measures
What it means for a page to be citable
A citable page is one that a search engine or an AI assistant can summarize or quote without having to guess. It depends on concrete things: short passages that make sense on their own, direct answers up front, data with sources and a recent date.
The tool scores five dimensions from 1 to 10, all measurable by reading the page's public HTML:
- Structure: one H1, H2 sections, lists and structured data.
- Density: share of passages between 25 and 120 words and total length.
- Directness: answer up front, question style subheadings and FAQ.
- Data and sources: concrete figures and links to external sources.
- Freshness: detected publication or update date.
How to use it
A quick diagnosis, not a promise
Nobody can guarantee that ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google will cite a specific page. This score measures signals that make a passage easier to understand and reuse, and helps you decide what to fix first.
It is a fixed rule heuristic: it runs no language model, it cannot see content that only loads with JavaScript, and it analyzes a single URL, not the whole site.
- Start with the dimension that has the lowest score.
- Analyze the same URL again after each change to compare.
- If you want a human review of your whole site, write to me.
Frequently asked questions
Is the tool free?
Yes. You can run up to 2 analyses per day from your connection, with no sign up.
What is GEO citability?
It is how easy it is for an AI search system to extract a passage from your page and cite it as an answer. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the work of improving that visibility. It does not replace technical SEO or useful content.
Does it guarantee that an AI will cite my page?
No. No tool can guarantee that. The score measures signals that make a passage easier to understand and reuse, but each system decides with its own criteria.
How is the score calculated?
With fixed rules on the page HTML: structure 25%, density 25%, directness 20%, data and sources 15% and freshness 15%. The same page always gives the same result. The criteria are inspired by the open source jev-seo project.
What data is stored?
The URL you analyze is not stored. To apply the daily limit, an encrypted identifier of your connection is kept for at most 2 days. If you use the contact form, the message is handled as the privacy policy explains.
Why can't my page be analyzed?
The tool reads the HTML the server returns. If the content loads only with JavaScript, if robots.txt blocks access or if the page has fewer than 120 words of text, it cannot be analyzed.
Why only 2 analyses per day?
Each analysis downloads a third party page and uses resources. The limit keeps the tool free and stable for the whole community.
